Animal Pages

Animal Pages

The cow pages provide a detailed wealth information about the animal; production, pedigree, breeding, health, and much more. There are two types of cow pages; individual and group. Individual pages load to the general tab, which has a summary snapshot of the animal. Other tabs have more detailed information for the particular animal. Group pages provide aggregate information for a group to assess its performance and health, as well as management information. The pages load to the summary tab, which provides basic production, repro, test day, mastitis, and group demographic information. Other tabs have further detailed information and animal-specific management tables, i.e. chores, animals nearing a freshen date, etc.

General Tab

The General tab is the default tab, it provides most of the vital information for the animal including identification, events, chores, repro status, DIM, location, sire, dam, and the most recent test day information. There is also an edit animal details link, where you can correct errors on the animal record. (i.e. Sire, date of birth, etc.)

Current Status Tab

This tab displays some dates of recent/upcoming date of note for the animal, due date, last freshen, last bred, etc. The tab gives you some approximate idea of the animal’s current status.

Production Tab

This tab has the production data for the animal. This is where you will find parlor milk data (if connected) for the animal, by milking, day, week, or month. You can also get some of the most recent test day information, as well as some lifetime values. Depending on the source of the data, and if you have your parlor connected to BoviSync, some of these may not be available to you.

Test Day Tab

The test day tab is a table of all the DHIA test results.

Lactations Tab

The lactation tab has the summary of past and the current lactation. All values are either for the end of the lactation, except in the case of the current lactation, the lactation-to-date values. All values in this table are based off of DHIA records; no parlor data is used in these values.

Pedigree Tab

This tab draws the pedigree tree for the animal and some quick information about each animal (if the animal is known / accessible in BoviSync).

Events Tab

This tab is a table of all the events for the animal’s life. To find a particular event, click on the magnifying glass on the bottom-left of the table for search options. (This is available in all tables).

Chores Tab

This tab is a table of all the outstanding chores for the animal.

Lactation Curves Tab

This tab is a plot of this lactation’s production as reported by DHIA
