Background
Carcass traits are key to profitability for producers sending animals to slaughter. Traits like weight, fat cover, muscle, and marbling directly affect how animals are priced. High-quality carcasses meet market specs, yield more saleable meat, and qualify for premiums. Tracking these traits also guides better genetics and management, improving future performance and returns.
For farms who send animals to Cargill meat processing plants, you may now import Carcass Data.
Instructions
You may receive your data in a multiple tab Excel file. You will need to copy and paste that data into its own Excel file, saved into CSV format.
The CSV file needs the same columns (exact capitalization and everything) for the items to load. The order of the columns NEEDS to be the same up to the Ear Tag column. The Ear Tag columns is the animal EID value (also known as Registered ID). Please also note that the Ear Tag value needs to be displayed as the full number, such as 840007675544321 (and not 8.4E+14) otherwise the data will not import properly.
