Diagnostic and disease testing in BoviSync
BoviSync has several ways to record disease related events on farm. The most common test event on many farms that is recorded is the culture event. Cultures generally pertain to mastitis and milk quality. The Highly Infectious Disease Event and the Diagnostic Test Event will be discussed in this article.
Highly Infectious Disease
The Highly Infectious Disease event is helpful for categorizing animals for status with specific events. These events are Brucellosis, BLV, TB, Johnes, BVD. Each disease can be set to "Not Tested, "Suspect", or "Positive". The animal report items are specific to the disease. Any event may also include a note.
Diagnostic Test
The diagnostic test is another place to record result from tests.
New choices are added often. Each specific diagnostic test has a corresponding result item in the animal reports. Any event may also include a note. The current choices are:
