Create a user account in BoviSync

1. If you don't yet have an account in BoviSync, this article will walk you through how to create a new user account. You can also go directly to https://bovisync.farm/newuser/.
   

Set-up directions if the farm is not on BoviSync

If the farm you're working with is on BoviSync, you can skip down to Pen Scoring in the Mobile App section!

Create a Farm

1. If you are working with farms that are not currently on BoviSync, you can create the herd.
   
2. Click on 'Create a new herd', which will take you to https://bovisync.farm/newfarm/

1. Fill out all required fields, and then click Create Farm

1. You are now logged into the farm you just created.

Add Pens

1. Next, you will want to create pens at the farm, so that you have pens available for pen scoring.
   
2. You can follow instructions in this article to add pens to your farm under Farm Setup.

Pen Scoring on Mobile App

1. Install BoviSync from the Google Play Store
   
2. Log into the first farm you would like to Pen Score
   

1. Tap the Pen Scoring icon.
   
2. You will be taken to the Pen Scoring Type selection page. There are currently 15 scoring types available. You may need to scroll down to see more scores.
   
3. Tap on the scoring type you would like to score.
   

1. You should then select which pen you would like to score, by tapping 'Pen Select'
   

1. Select your pen

1. You can now start scoring the animals!
   
2. For each animal that you score, tap on the value that represents the score.
   
3. If you need more score values that are not visible, tap, 'Select Score'
   

1. When you're ready to view the results on the pen you're scoring, tap 'Show Results'
   

1. You will see information for: Score Type, Pen, Average, Number of Scores, and Score Frequency table.
2. For score types that have many score options (like Body Condition Score), you may need to scroll down to see the full frequency table.

1. When you want to exit this screen, and go back to the previous screen, scroll down and tap 'Return to Select Score Type'
   

1. Note that you can return to any of the Pen Scoring screens or specific throughout the day, and the scores will still be available, and you can continue to add more scores when needed.
   
2. You can return to the score type selection screen by tapping 'Return to Select Score Type'
   

1. When you are done with pen scoring for the day, please make sure to sync your device.
   
2. Tap your user initials in the top-righthand corner, and tap, Sync Data.
   

1. After the device has synced, your pen scoring data will then be available for viewing of reports on the web.
   
2. Please note that scores entered are available on the device for the calendar day, and are then cleared out.
   

Multi-herd Functionality in the Mobile app

1. The app has the ability to login into multiple herds at once.  If you work with more than one location in BoviSync, it is possible to have each location on the phone. All farms that have granted you  permission will be available to add.

View Pen Scoring Reports on BoviSync Web

1. Pen scoring data is viewable in reports on BoviSync web.
2. Pre-built reports are available in the Report Map https://bovisync.farm/reports/map/
