Import ABS Index

Import ABS Index

This guide will walk you through the process of importing an ABS Global Index file into BoviSync.

In order to upload a file to BoviSync the file has to meet the following requirements:
  1. The file needs to have 2 columns.
  2. ID and My_Index need to be the column headers (the column headers have to be spelled and capitalized as shown otherwise the import will not work)
  3. List all of the IDs below the ID column and the Abs Index below the "My_Index" column
  4. The file must be saved as a CSV file (Comma delimited)
Example of the file to be uploaded into BoviSync.

Once you have the file saved with these requirements you can go to BoviSync to import the file.

Go to Setup then Import.

From the dropdown menu on the Import Wizard select ABS My Index. Once selected click Continue.

Click the Choose File button. Navigate to the file that you are importing.

When finished you will see the file name to the right of the Choose File button. Click the Import button when you are ready to proceed.

On the next screen enter your password and click the Confirm Import for (your farm name) when ready.

You will receive an email letting you know that the import was successful.

**Note you might not immediately see the results if the file has a lot of animals.

Attached is a template to use for importing the values.
