Mastitis Detection with Conductivity

Mastitis Detection with Conductivity

Parlors that measure conductivity can leverage this data to identify animals that may have mastitis.  A difference in conductivity of the milk for an animal is an indicator of mastitis, but not a detection method.  You can use this to identify animals as suspect cows to evaluate with a report like this: Potential Mastitis Conductivity Dev Report or a more restrictive list like this: Cows to Strip Report.

Additionally, some parlors allow you to input reports like those into their software to turn on lights on the milking points so that a milker can be notified of suspect animals that should be stripped.
