BoviSync Stall Import

BoviSync Stall import

BoviSync Stall Scanning feature requires RFID tags being assigned to stalls. Follow these instructions for indexing the stalls.

Obtain stall EIDs

Set-up Instructions for Tru-Test reader

  1. On your reader, go to Settings
  2. Go to Tag Reading
  3. On Tag Format, click through until you get to Decimal2
  4. Go back to the Home screen
  5. Click on New Session

Scan all of your stall EIDs

Scan in the order that you would like your stalls to appear.
(ie scan stall 1-80 in order from 1 to 80)

Export data from Tru-Test reader

  1. If you don't already have it on your device, download the Tru-Test Data Link application. It can be found here https://www.livestock.tru-test.com/en-us/applications/datalink, or in the USB drive that came with your wand.
  2. Connect your EID reader to your device. It may be connected via Bluetooth, otherwise, connect the EID reader via the cord that came with the device.
  3. Open the Data Link application.
  4. You can look at the Settings, to look at export options, and select the one most useful for you to view. If you want to ensure that the scans are in the correct order, you can select  the first option, "CSV (comma separated values)".
  5. Select the session file checkbox that you would like to export (typically it will the be the top session in the list)

  1. Click the first EID reader image, which the hover-over tool tip says "Get Information off of device"

  1. Select "Get selected session files" and click "Next"

  1. Select "Save selected sessions as files on the PC."

  1. Save the file with your desired file name. It will be saved as a CSV file.


Create stall import file for BoviSync

  1. Create a CSV file with the following headers: visual_id, eid (see attached csv as an example). The headers need to be in the file.
  2. In the first column, you will need to add your visual_ids, in the order in which you scanned your eids
  3. You can copy and paste your eid values into the 2nd column.

Import the file into BoviSync

  1. On the import page, select Parlor Stall.
  2. You will receive an email when it successfully imports.
  3. At this time, you will not be able to see the parlor stalls in the web interface. If you have questions about the data that you imported, please contact the Customer Success team.

Please be sure to change your tag scanning format back to ISO if you were instructed to scan in BoviSync app using ISO.

To update the existing Parlor Stall EIDs, please contact Customer Success to assist you.
