RTrtName Item in BoviSync

A brief guide to the item that replaces repro treatment sequences with standard synchronization protocol names

What is the RTrtName item?

The RTrtName item is a field in the BoviSync software reports for breeding and implant events. It allows users to see a standard synchronization protocol name instead of a repro treatment sequence when it matches the repro treatment sequence. A standard synchronization protocol is a predefined and widely used repro treatment sequence that has a specific name. BoviSync uses an internal table referenced below.

The RTrtName item can help users to understand their repro treatment records and reports. By using the RTrtName item, users can replace long complex repro treatment sequences and instead use a short and recognizable protocol name. This can save time, reduce errors, and improve data quality and consistency. The RTrtName item can also help users to compare and analyze their repro performance across different protocols and groups of cows.

BoviSync users can utilize the RTrtName item in this report: Conception Rate by Compliance

How does the RTrtName item work?

The RTrtName item works by using an internal table in the BoviSync software that matches repro treatment sequences with standard synchronization protocol names. The table contains a list of common and accepted protocol names and their corresponding repro treatment sequences. All prostaglandin and gonadotropin treatments in the 42 days prior OR to the prior service are reported.
