Create an EID Pair File

This guide walks you through the process of creating an EID Pair file for import into BoviSync. This is especially useful when adding new animals, as it automatically matches each eartag with the correct EID tag.

Written Instructions:

1. Open Microsoft Excel
2. In cell A1 type the first EID number in the series 
3. In cell B1 type the corresponding eartag 
4. Right click A1 and click 'Format Cells' 
5. Select 'Number' and set the decimal places to '0'  Click OK.
6. Enter the following formula in cell A2: =a1+1 
7. Enter the following formula in cell B2: =b1+1
8. Drag and Fill the formula down as needed 
9. Save file as .CSV
10. Import the .CSV file to BoviSync

The column order does not matter; the system will detect it automatically.



Additional Information

The column which contains the Eartag must be between 1-6 digits.   If the eartag is greater than 6 digits, the import will fail. 
The column which contains the EID must be exactly 15 digits.   If the EID is less than 15 or greater than 15 digits, the import will fail. 
If the data file contains any duplicate values, the import will fail.
