BoviSync Performance Data Link

BoviSync provides insights for dairies and the companies that serve them. Team Accounts are the portal for companies to access their customer information. As a feature, we are interested in providing more powerful connections to BoviSync such as the BoviSync Performance Data Link listed in the Snowflake Marketplace. It allows companies and universities to access and analyze their BoviSync data in Snowflake, and combine it with other data sources, such as weather, market, or genomic data, to gain a deeper understanding of their dairy operations and performance.  BoviSync Performance Data Link automatically synchronizes the data to Snowflake, to provide access for recent and historical data, and for connecting tools like Power BI directly to Snowflake. 

BoviSync Performance Data Link is integrated with BoviSync Team Accounts, ensuring data security in both BoviSync and Snowflake. Farm/dairy data access is based on permissions granted in BoviSync to teams. Note that all sub-team permissions are granted to the parent teams. An organization will have access to farm data of all sub-teams or direct team permissions.

Snowflake is a cloud data platform that enables organizations to store, share, and analyze data securely and efficiently. Snowflake offers a data marketplace where data providers can offer live and ready-to-query data sets to data consumers. Data consumers can access and join data sets from different sources without copying or moving the data and use Snowflake's powerful features to perform complex analytics and generate insights. Snowflake Accounts utilize and pay for the resources to query data through compute.

To get started with BoviSync Performance Data Link, users need to meet the following prerequisites:

1. BoviSync account with a valid subscription and a BoviSync Team Account with the appropriate roles and permissions. 
2. Snowflake account with a valid subscription and the required Snowflake roles and permissions. 
   

Once users have the prerequisites, they can follow the steps below to subscribe to BoviSync Performance Data Link and access their BoviSync data in Snowflake:

1. Request the BoviSync Performance Data Link by contacting support@bovisync.com please provide:
   
1. your name
   
2. BoviSync username
   
3. BoviSync Team Name
   
4. Snowflake Account name in your organization:  <orgname>-<accountname>  
   
5. Account Locator

2. Support will provide a link to access their BoviSync data in Snowflake. Users can also access their BoviSync data from the My Data Products section in the Snowflake Marketplace. 
3. Click Get on the BoviSync Performance Data Link data product page. The product details, such as the data description, schema, and sample queries are listed here. 
   

Users can now query and analyze their BoviSync data in Snowflake, join it with other data sources, using Snowflake's SQL engine and connect to other tools like Power BI and R.

Access to the BoviSync Performance Data Link is included with current Pro and Enterprise Account subscription. Company and team Accounts are subject to an additional monthly team fee for access to the BoviSync Performance Data Link. Snowflake Account fees are in addition to any fees or charges from BoviSync. 

The data provided via the BoviSync Performance Data Link are snapshots of farm data. It is provided as a service to companies for serving our mutual customers. Companies are only able to access information to animals located or owned by BoviSync Farm Accounts that have granted team permission. Removal of the team permission will end access to information beyond the date revoked.
