Deduct Semen Inventory for All Breedings Setting

This guide will walk through a new setting which allows you to deduct from semen inventory via a bred event even if a unit of semen was not actually pulled from a tank on your farm. This applies to breedings performed on the mobile app or in a web browser. The setting is unchecked (off) by default.

The setting is located under Setup --> Farm Setup --> Inventory and is called "Deduct inventory for all breedings"


Setting Enabled (Checked)

When this item is selected, completed bred events where a user did not select a tank for a sire, the sire inventory will be taken from the tank which has the largest quantity of that sire. See the example below.


Notice how the user does not select a sire from a specific tank. After the bred event is saved, the sire is taken from the tank on the farm which has the largest amount of that sire (in this case Tank 2).

Setting Disabled (Unchecked)

When this item is not selected, completed bred events where a user did not select a tank for a sire, the inventory will not be taken from any tanks on the farm. (this is the default setting).


Notice how the user does not select a sire from a specific tank. After the bred event is saved, the sire is not taken from any tanks.
