Milk Recording Organizations in the UK can produce a 'CDL' file, that is an executable file (CDL.exe) that contains a herd's data. BoviSync has a file extraction tool that extracts the herd data into importable files from the CDL file, that can be used for either an initial farm data load or for monthly milk test results.
For the monthly milk test information, the file needs to have the BoviSync herd code in the file name and first column of the import file. You can either do this manually or for convenience, you could include the TXT file called, HERDCODE.TXT and in the first line of the file enter your BoviSync Herdcode number (must be an 8-digit integer). This is used to verify the correct file when importing the milk data.
Note: Animals with no Birth date in the CDL file will now assume the Herd entry date as Birth Date
If you open this file in excel it will change the date format to your local date format (possibly dd-mm-yyyy). Within the Ftech Import we need the file in yyyy-mm-dd or dd-mm-yyyy
